Disposable email: the honest comparison
YOPmail, Temp-Mail, Guerrilla Mail… which one to choose in 2026? We compare without bias: blacklists, retention time, ads, privacy and ease of use.
Why compare these services?
YOPmail is the pioneer — active since 2004. But its domain is now on most blacklists: Amazon, PayPal and many SaaS systematically block it. Temp-Mail is the most visited (46 million visits/month) but displays aggressive advertising. mail123.fr is hosted in France, with few ads, push notifications on your inbox and 12 domains to bypass blocks — notably accepted by AI services.
This comparison objectively rates 8 criteria. Some criteria favour our competitors — intentionally: a biased comparison helps no one.
Quick, no-signup access → mail123.fr. Need an API or to send emails → Guerrilla Mail. Full privacy without a public inbox → addy.io / SimpleLogin.

Methodology & screenshots
The ratings above didn't come out of nowhere. Here's how we evaluate each service, what we measured, and what these home pages actually look like — screenshots included, taken in May 2026.
How we rate
Each service is rated on 8 technical criteria (speed, retention, security, design, etc.). The score is a weighted average, not a personal opinion. Criteria that disadvantage mail123 — like retention or AI service acceptance — are rated honestly.
When and how
Tests conducted from Marseille (France), on Firefox and Chrome, in private browsing, without ad blocker. Each service was used on 5 real scenarios: Reddit signup, one-shot purchase, spam test, OTP reception, and bypassing a site blocking disposable emails.
Disclosed bias
Yes, we're both judge and party: mail123.fr is our service. But this comparison isn't "mail123 always wins". YOPmail has longer retention. Guerrilla Mail lets you send emails. Temp-Mail has the largest audience. Our use-case verdicts reflect this.

Frequently asked questions
YOPmail remains functional but more and more sites — including Amazon, PayPal, Discord — block its domains. YOPmail offers daily alternative domains to bypass these blocks, but the practice becomes tedious. For regular use, a service with multiple domains like mail123.fr is more practical.
For simple use (OTP code, quick sign-up): mail123.fr or Temp-Mail. For long-term privacy: addy.io or SimpleLogin (permanent aliases). For developers: Guerrilla Mail (free API) or Mailinator (advanced API, freemium).
Yes, using a temporary email address is perfectly legal in all EU countries. It is a privacy protection tool, not a fraudulent one. Using it to commit fraud (fake accounts, trial abuse…) would be illegal — but the tool itself is not.
Two possible reasons: (1) the site blocks disposable email domains — change domain or try another service; (2) delivery delay — wait 60 to 90 seconds before resending. mail123.fr displays emails in real time via automatic polling every 8 seconds.
Most disposable email services only allow receiving. Guerrilla Mail is the notable exception: it allows sending, receiving and replying from a temporary address. YOPmail only allows replying to a received email. To receive and read your messages securely, create your free disposable address in one click.
